Deal Sourcing Intern

We are seeking Deal Sourcing Interns to join our Deal Sourcing Team for Fall 2024,  with the potential for successful candidates to extend their tenure on a part-time or full-time basis into the Spring and beyond.

The deal team’s goal is to source and evaluate deal opportunities that will ultimately lead to acquisition(s). The successful intern will augment all aspects of our deal funnel, from thesis ideation and refinement to deal sourcing, evaluation, and diligence.

This internship offers an excellent opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students with aspirations in consulting, investment banking, and private equity post-graduation to gain hands-on, real-world experience in Private Equity with extensive mentorship, learning, and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Thesis Generation and Refinement
    • Identify growth sectors and analyze competitors to pinpoint investment opportunities.
    • Craft investment theses based on analysis and refine them with team feedback and industry insights.
    • Re-calibrate deal sourcing strategies based on thesis refinement. 
  • Deal Pipeline Development
    • Develop and implement outreach strategies to establish connections with business owners
    • Build lists of businesses that align with LEP’s criteria us various databases, tools, and methodologies.
    • Create and manage snail mail and email campaigns to engage business owners.
    • Refine industry theses based on interactions with business owners.
    • Work with Intermediaries to identify deals that meet LEP’s criteria.
  • Business Diligence:
    • Build and apply due diligence frameworks to company and financial statements from business owners and intermediaries.
    • Identify and analyze key business risks, questions, and opportunities; make recommendations to inform decisions and the path forward.

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiasm for Private Equity, Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition, Search Funds, private market investing, investment banking, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • A personal ethos that resonates with integrity, transparency, humility, and a commitment to continuous self-improvement.
  • Ability to think independently, critically, and creatively to find solutions to complex challenges.
  • A high level of self-motivation, resilience to persist through challenges, and wisdom to seek guidance when needed.

Technology Intern

We are seeking a Tech Intern to join our team for Fall 2024,  with the potential for successful candidates to extend their tenure on a part-time or full-time basis into the Fall and beyond.

The successful intern will identify, implement, and integrate essential software and solutions into all aspects of our deal funnel, from thesis ideation and refinement to deal sourcing, evaluation, and diligence.

This internship offers undergraduate and graduate students an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on, real-world Private Equity x Technology experience with extensive mentorship, learning, and development.

Responsibilities:

  • CRM Platform
    • Select and integrate a suitable CRM platform that aligns with LEP’s operations, ensuring smooth interoperability with existing systems.
    • Maintain an accurate CRM database, enhancing data quality and implementing efficient data management practices.
    • Customize the CRM for LEP’s processes, automate repetitive tasks, and train the team for maximum efficiency and CRM leverage.
  • Marketing Automation
    • Configure and refine marketing automation tools for efficiency, including email campaigns and analytics.
    • Seamlessly integrate these tools with CRM systems for a cohesive marketing and sales strategy.
  • Deal Sourcing Platforms
    • Identify the best deal sourcing platforms, and tailor them to meet LEP’s specific criteria for industry, size, and financial health.
    • Seamlessly integrate these tools with CRM systems for a cohesive sourcing strategy.
  • Website Development and Maintenance
    • Update and maintain the LEP website, ensuring it communicates the firm’s mission effectively and is user-friendly.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Keen interest in the workings of private equity, entrepreneurship through acquisition, search funds, and the startup ecosystem.
  • A drive to innovate and contribute fresh ideas to LEP’s deal sourcing and evaluation processes. Eagerness to learn about and participate in the growth of early-stage companies.
  • Coding skills in languages such as Python, SQL, JavaScript, or others are highly valued.
  • A personal ethos that resonates with integrity, transparency, humility, and a commitment to continuous self-improvement.
  • Ability to think independently, critically, and creatively to find solutions to complex challenges.
